Human Rights and Illegal Migration

A big group of journalists gathered this morning to participate in the training on Human Rights and Illegal Migration; a cooperation between IMCK and STATT.
The morning was opened by Goran Sabah from STATT who provided information and data on illegal migration.


After that international trainer Ruth Hopkins and IMCK lead trainer Khaled Sulaiman took over. They will talk about the international human rights, laws considering illegal migration and how to turn these subjects in stories for media.

The first part of IMCK workshop on Knowledge Awareness of Oil and Gas finishes in Kalar Ali Ghazi from Nature Iraq explains how oil and gas impact on the environment and IMCK journalism trainer Khaled Suleiman helps the journalists develop story ideas.   Part 2 of the workshop is in Sulaymaniya in December.  Experts on  oil and gas will give information to help journalists become more specialized on the topic.

KDP women training

Gregor Niessen ,an expert on capacity building for political parties and NGO ’s started on March 15 a 5-day training for 24 women from the Kurdish Democratic Party ( KDP . The other days he will train together with Sabina Gazic , member of the Amsterdam City Council. They will make the women more aware of the political process and encourage them to strive to reach top positions within the KDP . They will talk with them about how to get this more visible role and how to get trough the ceiling.
