Evening course at IMCK Erbil

Twelve editors and experienced journalists from different newspapers in Erbil joined IMCK on Saturday October 8, 2011 for an evening training on editioral subjects.


The workshop of six late afternoons (4-7 PM) is the first that IMCK has organised for those journalists its normal trainings to not reach because of their working hours.

Trainers are IMCK-trainers Ako Mohammed, Khaled Suleiman and Khaled Suleiman. The training will focus on text editing, making better leads and headlines, making stories more attractive to read and making them with the reader in mind.

The first part of IMCK workshop on Knowledge Awareness of Oil and Gas finishes in Kalar Ali Ghazi from Nature Iraq explains how oil and gas impact on the environment and IMCK journalism trainer Khaled Suleiman helps the journalists develop story ideas.   Part 2 of the workshop is in Sulaymaniya in December.  Experts on  oil and gas will give information to help journalists become more specialized on the topic.

KDP women training

Gregor Niessen ,an expert on capacity building for political parties and NGO ’s started on March 15 a 5-day training for 24 women from the Kurdish Democratic Party ( KDP . The other days he will train together with Sabina Gazic , member of the Amsterdam City Council. They will make the women more aware of the political process and encourage them to strive to reach top positions within the KDP . They will talk with them about how to get this more visible role and how to get trough the ceiling.
